Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Deadbase down?

I think there was already a thread about this, but does anyone know if there are plans to fix DeadBase?

Currently, searches return a series of these kinds of messages..

Notice: Undefined variable: id in /usr/home/web/users/a0004981/html/deadbase/dbquery110.php3 on line 38

It's not a perfect website, but I find it quite useful when it's working properly.

Yeah, I was trying to find a 'Till the Morning Comes. Any suggestions for a good one?

As I learned in the other thread, this one's good as well:

setlists.net has a reputation of being pretty inaccurate. I think deadlists maybe the best source on the web. It is the one that is linked to every show on this site (check the link on the lefthand side of every show).

Charlie Miller has commented on this site that deadlists.com is a better source than deadbase at this point.

Deadlists.com is indeed a much better source than deadbase or setlists.net (which simply takes the setlists from deadbase). Although there are a few more user-friendly features on setlists.net...
That said, deadlists isn't perfect - I consider it "unfinished" and a lot of it is quite out of date, since the caretakers tend not to update things. It's still more up-to-date than other setlist sites, though.

The main reason that I like Deadbase is the search engine, though the one at setlists.net isn't bad.

That's true, but one thing setlists has is the ability to search a particular day (not date). I know, it's just a little thing. But you can search for all NYE shows, for example, by selecting 12 31 and leaving the year blank. Can't do that with deadlists, sadly.

Deadlists is also better regarding venues, although it's still not consistent in all respects.

Who'd have thunk it? I almost thought I'd show that to my wife, but she'd try and make me sell my well-used copy of DeadbaseX. Very weird to think of my book as that collectible, but I'm more used to collecting freely-traded music. I guess book collectors are used to this kind of price?

I think that would be a ceiling price for a used copy if you searched around. Mint like hf has is a whole other ballgame.

Does anyone know what happened to those guys?

Hey Syd! Good to see a Syd post.

I have 2 mint copies of DB X and a well-worn copy of DB VI.

Does that put me in the 1%? Did I just move up the tax bracket ladder? Eek.
